How much does a San Diego bachelor party cost per person?
Budget weekends run $600–$1,200 per person, mid-range $1,200–$2,500, and premium $2,500–$4,000+. Figures cover a 3-day, 2-night weekend including hotel, food, activities, and nightlife at 2026 prices. How far in advance should I book?
For peak summer weekends (June–August), 6–8 weeks out. Shoulder season (April–May, September–October) usually has availability 3–4 weeks ahead. Yachts, the best VIP nightclub tables, and Torrey Pines tee times book fastest — lock those first, then the rest of the weekend can be built around them.
What's the best month for a bachelor party in San Diego?
May, September, and early October are the sweet spot: warm weather, lower prices, and thinner crowds than peak summer. July is the warmest and most expensive. Comic-Con in mid-July spikes hotel rates city-wide — avoid that week unless that's why you're coming.
What's the ideal group size?
8–12 is the easiest size to plan around — fits a standard party bus, gets you a great yacht without needing a 100-footer, and books VIP tables without minimums getting out of hand. Groups under 6 lose efficiency on shared costs; groups over 16 need more coordination but unlock larger yachts, multiple cars, and reserved sections at venues.
How many nights should the trip be?
Two nights (Friday–Sunday) is the most common. Three nights (Thursday–Sunday) gives you a full activity day Friday plus two nights out and is what we recommend for first-time visitors. One-night trips work for local groups but feel rushed once you factor in arrival and departure.
Is San Diego better than Las Vegas or Nashville?
Depends on the groom. Vegas is best for nonstop nightlife and high-stakes anything. Nashville is best for music and bar-heavy weekends. San Diego is best for groups that want a mix — yacht days, golf, nightlife, and beach time — without the overstimulation. It's also typically 20–30% cheaper than Vegas at the same tier.
What if the groom doesn't want a 'wild' party?
Then we don't plan one. Plenty of grooms want a chill weekend: a yacht day, golf at Coronado, a great steakhouse dinner, drinks at a rooftop, home by midnight. Tell us "low-key, no clubs" in the vibe field and the proposal reflects that.

Where should we stay in San Diego?
Gaslamp Quarter for nightlife-heavy groups (walkable to clubs, walkable home at 2am). Mission Beach and Pacific Beach for daytime/water-focused groups. Coronado for golf-and-relax groups. La Jolla for higher-end celebrations. Full breakdown in our hotels guide.
Should we get a hotel or an Airbnb?
Hotels in the Gaslamp are more convenient if nightlife is the priority. Airbnbs are more cost-effective for groups of 8+ and let you have a home base for private chef dinners, pre-game drinks, and group hangs. Mission Beach rentals are the most popular choice for bachelor groups specifically.
What's the difference between Mission Beach and Gaslamp?
Two completely different weekends. Gaslamp is downtown — high-rise hotels, walkable clubs, restaurant-density, urban energy. Mission Beach is the boardwalk — beach houses, bonfires, boardwalk bars, surfboards in the rental. Many groups split — Friday in Mission Beach, Saturday in the Gaslamp. Do you book hotels for us?
We don't book the rooms themselves, but we recommend specific hotels by neighborhood and vibe and can coordinate group rates at partner properties for groups of 10+. For Airbnbs, we'll send a shortlist of bachelor-friendly rentals that allow groups.

Getting around
Transportation between venues, neighborhoods, and the airport.
Do we need transportation?
Yes, especially for groups of 6+. A party bus or sprinter eliminates the Uber-coordination headache and keeps the group together. Rideshares between neighborhoods (Mission Beach to Gaslamp is 20+ minutes in traffic) get expensive fast and lose 30+ minutes per transition.
What does a party bus cost?
Party buses run $150–$250 per hour with a 4–5 hour minimum. Most groups book 5–7 hours covering dinner, nightlife, and the ride home. Expect $1,000–$1,800 total for a Saturday night including driver gratuity (18–20%). Full breakdown on our party bus page.
What's the airport situation?
San Diego International (SAN) is genuinely 5–15 minutes from most central neighborhoods — closer than any major US airport to its city center. Group transfers from SAN to a Gaslamp or Mission Beach hotel run $80–$150 for an SUV or sprinter. We can coordinate airport pickups as part of the weekend.

Yacht charters — sizes, costs, and what's actually included.
How much does a yacht charter cost?
Small bay cruises (under 40 ft, groups of 6–10) start around $800. Mid-size 40–60 ft yachts run $1,500–$2,500. Premium 70–100 ft yachts with crew, bartender, and catering options are $2,500–$5,000+. Half-day (3–4 hour) charters are the most popular format. Full pricing on our yacht rentals guide.
How big a yacht do we need?
Book for 70–80% of the listed capacity, not the maximum. A boat rated for 20 is comfortable with 14–16 once you add coolers, speakers, and walking room. For 12, look at 40–50 ft motor yachts; for 20+, you want a 60–80 ft vessel.
Can we drink on a yacht charter?
Yes — most charters allow BYOB. Some include a bar setup, ice, and glassware; others charge a small fee. Hard liquor policies vary by operator. The captain remains in control and can stop service if needed. Beer and wine are universally fine.

Picking a course, what it costs, and how to book the trophy round.
What's the best golf course in San Diego?
Torrey Pines South is the trophy round if everyone plays at a decent level — book 30+ days out. For a more relaxed round, Coronado Municipal has unbeatable views and easier tee times. Aviara and Maderas are excellent inland choices. We coordinate caddies, carts, and clubhouse reservations.
How much does golf cost?
Torrey Pines South runs $250–$350 per player at weekend rates. Aviara and Maderas are $150–$225. Coronado Municipal is the value play at $50–$75. Add caddies ($60–$100 plus tip), carts (usually included), and clubhouse food/drinks.
What if some of the group doesn't golf?
Common scenario. We pair golf with a parallel activity — usually a spa day in La Jolla, a beach session in Coronado, or a brewery tour for the non-golfers — and reconvene the group for dinner. Nightlife & Gaslamp
VIP tables, dress codes, last call, and what to expect downtown.
What does VIP bottle service cost in the Gaslamp?
Table minimums at major Gaslamp clubs range from $500 for a Thursday night to $2,000+ for a Saturday at a flagship venue. Bottles run $400–$800 each. A typical bachelor group of 10 spends $1,500–$3,000 total on a Saturday VIP table including the minimum, an extra bottle or two, and gratuity.
Which Gaslamp clubs are best for a bachelor party?
Choice depends on the vibe. Higher-energy dance clubs work for younger or higher-energy groups; rooftop lounges and cocktail-focused venues work better for groups in their 30s. We have current relationships with the top venues and place each group based on group size, age range, and music preferences.
Do we need to dress up?
Most clubs enforce a smart-casual dress code: no athletic wear, no flip flops, no plain T-shirts. Collared shirts or nice T-shirts under a jacket are safe. The groom typically gets some kind of badge, sash, or accessory — venues are usually friendly about it but check ahead if the group has bachelorette-style decoration plans.
What time do bars close in San Diego?
Last call is 1:30am and bars/clubs close at 2:00am — same as the rest of California. There are no legal after-hours venues, but you can return to your hotel or rental and continue privately. Some hotel bars and lounges accommodate post-close orders for guests.
Can you arrange a private DJ or live music?
Yes. A DJ for a yacht or rental party runs $500–$1,500 for the night. Booking a recognized local act on a small private set is $2,000–$10,000 depending on artist. We have a roster of San Diego DJs and musicians and can match the vibe.

Food, drinks & the law
Private chefs, dietary stuff, and California rules every visiting group should know.
Are private chefs worth it?
Yes, especially for groups of 8+. Private hibachi shows ($75–$125 per person) are entertainment plus dinner in one. Multi-course tasting menus ($150–$250 per person) replace a restaurant night where you'd spend nearly that much anyway, and the group stays at the rental.
What about dietary restrictions?
Tell us upfront. Most private chefs handle vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, and major allergies without issue if given 48+ hours notice. Restaurant reservations can be flagged similarly. The earlier we know, the more options stay on the table.
Can we drink alcohol on the beach?
No. San Diego has had an alcohol ban on all city beaches since 2008. That includes Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Coronado. You can drink in licensed beachside venues and on private decks of beach rentals, just not on the sand. Enforcement is regular and citations are routine.
What about smoking and cannabis?
Recreational cannabis is legal for 21+ in California with purchase from a licensed dispensary. Consumption is restricted to private property — not on the street, beaches, hotels with no-smoking policies, or yacht charters unless explicitly approved by the operator. Tobacco smoking is also banned on all city beaches and parks.

What's included in the Weekend Warrior package?
Party bus pickup and drop-off, a brewery tour with stops at top San Diego craft breweries, and VIP nightclub entry in the Gaslamp at a top venue. $499 per person for the experiences only — hotel, food, and incidentals are separate.
What's included in the MVP Package?
Party bus or sprinter transport, a yacht cruise on San Diego Bay, a VIP nightclub table in the Gaslamp, a dinner reservation at an upscale restaurant, and a tee time at Torrey Pines or spa access in La Jolla. $1,199 per person for the experiences only — most groups spend an additional $400–$800 per person on hotel, food, and incidentals.
What's included in the Baller Experience?
Luxury sprinter or upgraded party bus, a private yacht charter, premium VIP nightclub placement, a VIP concert or sporting event (Padres suite or a major touring act), championship golf or a luxury La Jolla spa, a private chef dinner, and a dedicated host for the entire weekend. $2,499+ per person for the experiences.
Can we customize a package?
Yes. Mix any of our 8 experience categories — yachts, nightlife, transportation, golf, brewery/winery tours, private chef, stadium/arena, and live music. Tell us the group size, the budget ceiling, and the groom's vibe, and we'll build something specific to your weekend.
How does group payment work?
We typically work with one point of contact — usually the best man — who handles collection from the group separately. Most groups use Venmo or a shared card. We can also split the final invoice across multiple cards if needed. The groom's expenses are typically covered by the group.
Is there a booking fee?
No separate fee for standard packages — our margin is built into the package pricing, similar to how a travel agent works. For fully custom builds with extensive coordination, we may add a planning fee depending on scope, which we'll surface in writing before you commit.
What if someone cancels?
Most experiences have a per-group flat rate (yacht, party bus, tables), so a single cancellation doesn't usually change the total much. Per-person items (golf, dining, concerts) typically allow changes up to 7–14 days before. Specific cancellation terms vary by vendor — we surface them in writing before you commit.
What if the weather is bad?
San Diego averages 266 sunny days a year, so it's rare — but for May "gray" or a winter storm we have indoor backups: brewery tours, private chef events, comedy clubs, indoor sporting events, and nightlife are unaffected. Yacht charters typically reschedule for safety calls; we work with the operator on a credit or new date.
What if something goes wrong during the weekend?
You'll have a direct contact for the entire weekend. If a venue cancels, a driver runs late, or anything else goes off-plan, we move into fix-it mode in real time. Baller Experience clients get a dedicated host on-site for the duration.
Do you organize bachelorette parties too?
Yes. Same marketplace, same approach — we plan a lot of bachelorette weekends, and many of the same experiences (yachts, private chefs, brewery tours, rooftop nightlife) translate directly. Fill out the planning form and note bachelorette in the vibe section.
How do I actually book?
Submit the planning form with date, group size, budget range, and vibe. We respond within 24 hours with a curated proposal. Once you approve, we coordinate with vendors, lock in reservations, and send a full day-of itinerary with addresses and contact info.
